Case Study 1.
Unconscious Bias Workshop
―
The Challenge: Defining what unconscious bias is, its consequences and costs. We helped participants identify and address the unconscious biases that can impede productivity and performance. The aim was to increase awareness of the intentional in creating an inclusive environment where employee differences are valued and welcomed.
Sector: Worldwide Professional Association in PR and Education in New York City.
Our Approach: Employees, Managers, Leaders, and Executives in a live, on-site in-person session. Course content was delivered through a combination of powerpoint slideshow, recommended readings, and learning workshop activities.
Results: Individuals discovered blind spots that impact hiring, developing and promoting employees different from themselves. The training allowed participants to explore relevant Diversity and Inclusion enabling (D&I) strategies through awareness of unconscious bias as a priority for the organization.
Case Study 2.
Implementation of Mentoring across Global Team
―
The Challenge: Designed and formalized a mentoring program, taking into account the specific requirements of the client organization’s: its complexity, its multiple locations around the world, and finally, its different needs in terms of mentoring.
The second, supporting objective was to increase communication concerning the project, not only by using the official channels of communication, but also by involving the target in the design (communication by influence).
Sector: World Financial Institution based in Washington D.C.
Our Approach: Conducted a wide range of stakeholder interviews, analyzed client needs with respect to mentoring and training requirements, bolstered program with relevant training around mentoring; formulated a clear scorecard (KPI) to benchmark program success.
The Results: Mentoring program is a current and ongoing program within the client organization, and Blue Arbor continues to support the client’s roll-out to successive program participants.
